Michael P. Mallia
A native of Galveston, Texas, Mallia received his undergraduate degree from Lamar University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. He is licensed to practice in the Supreme Court of Texas and all lower Texas courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals (Fifth and Eleventh Circuits) and the U.S. District Court (Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas). He has been cited in Who's Who In American Law and is a previous winner of the Outstanding Professional and Civic Achievement Award bestowed by Who's Who in Houston. Highlights of Mallia's many professional and civic affiliations include memberships with the Houston Trial Lawyers, where he served as president for the 1994-1995 term; Texas Trial Lawyers, where he has been on the Board of Governors since 1993; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; the College of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association. He is also a Life Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation. Mike Mallia is also a passionate and dedicated child advocate. Mallia was one of the founding members of the Houston Trial Lawyers Foundation, the charitable arm of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. As its primary project, the Foundation has adopted an elementary school in an underprivileged area of Houston. This project has been designed to help these children raise their expectations of what life can offer and to help them accomplish their goals. For his work in this area, Mallia received a 1995 Red Apple Award from the Houston Independent School District. In 1996, he was nominated for the Mayor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Services.
